Dr. Yap Boon Hup
Biography
A small boy named after Paul Yap Boon Hup was born in Penang in 1961. He loves in reading and writing since childhood days. His father taught him how to read while he was a young child. He has undergone 6 years of primary and secondary education respectively. He started to work after completing secondary school at the age of 18 years old to support his big family of 12 siblings.
He loves teaching too, then he joined teacher training college for 3 years. He started to teach in a primary school at the age of 23 years old in 1984. After saving money for some years, he continued his tertiary education at the age of 39 in the year 2000. He graduated in 2004 with Bachelor in Social Science majoring in Economics. Paul obtained his Master in Business Administration from University of Southern Queensland, Australia in 2006.
Five years later, he further to his Doctorate in Business Administration in 2010 via online education. He later successfully graduated as the first doctor in Yap’s family. He started his career as a teacher and later became a lecturer.
Paul likes Lizfalco’s (2012) educational philosophy:
“Education is best while individuals of a community work cooperatively to promote the holistic development of young humans, such that each scholar feels strengthened to make a commitment to the world in a totally one of a kind way by means of charming his or her personal ability.”
Last but not least, as a forthcoming educationist, Paul believes his logic and lecturing styles may change all through his career and he needs to stay responsive to suggestions and open for betterment.
